Just pretend it is still Wednesday...ok?

I know, I know, I'm way behind on posts. Can you blame me for just being in the moment?

After 2 days of VBS we made an executive decision to postpone the last two days of VBS to Monday and Tuesday next week, so unfortunately I won't be there for the end. We were all exhausted (kids included) and our leader was feeling worse and worse, so made a "quick" trip to the hospital (they don't have urgent care or even primary care doctors here outside of hospitals), where she tested negative for strep but was given antibiotics just in case it was some other bacteria. The good news is, after a few days of rest she is feeling much better! However instead of changing the plans AGAIN, we decided to keep working on the house and did a few fun events.

Wednesday I was at the house spending time with my favorite littles and not-so-littles; we broke out the games and crafts that I had brought, which were a big hit! I did not, however, take any pictures 😂

Thursday (yesterday) we went to the Giraffe Center, a nature reserve that allows you to feed giraffes! And yes, of course I took a selfie with one!

Afterwards we stopped a cafe for a delicious lunch (chicken pie...think chicken pot pie, but in a croissant), and spotted some baboons on the way home!

And finally, today. My last day in Kenya 😭

We did some organizing and brainstorming how to better organize around the house, then took a trip to a local mall which holds a Maasai Market on Fridays. Again....no pictures (sorry!) but think flea market, but all handmade goods. I decided to splurge a bit on a pair of "slippers" (flipflops) which I promise to post a picture of at some point.

After the market we did a little shopping for the house, and stopped at a pizza shop for lunch. Half of our crew then went home, while the rest of us visited the Jacaranda Creations shop to do some more shopping. Jacaranda Creations allows women to support their families by making fabric and quilted items. What they can do with some fabric is amazing! Sweet Sarah was overjoyed we chose to visit, as they have been struggling lately to get customers. If there is anything quilted or fabric you would be interested in, let me know! We can certainly help connect you somehow.

I'm now at the airport, and I can't believe my time here is again over. I'll do a final wrap up when I get home, but I am so glad I was able to serve God's Kingdom with YRM again!
